a833 sticking

hello, have a 4 speed in my barracuda, ive changed the selector rods, bushed up the linkages, can a "sticky "or awkard to change gear be a gearbox fault? syncros, detent probs? ive locked the hurst into its neutrals, removed selector rods and put all tabs in middle positions or their neutrals and adjusted rods accordinly,i know reverse has a seperate system to the detent ball etc that the forward gears have should the reverse tab have positive click into a neutral as it seems to be a little free, ie not holding in neutral<with just tab on> like the others many thanks, nathan.

Check to make sure your clutch is adjusted right. could be worn syncros if it grinds going into gear, could also be a worn pilot bushing. What is the trans doing exactally?

pistol grip adjustment trouble

same problem here. i have mocked up the tranny and pistol grip on the bench, i flow nicely 1st and 2nd,nice flow to 3rd and 4th. its really tough going into reverse and almost impossible coming out without an extra hand on the shifter lever.do i need this hooked up to the clutch to flow better. does anybody have any pictures of this linkage attached to the A833,heck maybe i have it hooked up wrong.

Mkae sure the reverse lever is center properly , a couple of threads one way or the other can make a huge difference in & out of reverse , also make sure the shifter is clean & lubed it can get very tough to move with 40 yo hardened grease

A833 clutch linkage not meshing

I have been having transmission problems as well. You said you replaced the "changed the selector rods, bushed up the linkages," where did you buy these from?
My clutch does not seem to be getting enough travel in the linkages, causing it to ride the release bearing. I have narrowed it down to the clutch linkage and rods, yet I have no idea as to where to purchase new ones.
Any help would be great, I need everything from the clutch rod to the shifter fork rod (i am sure these names for these specific parts are wrong).
