Any fresh paint? Paint burning off exhaust parts could make the smell, Trans fluid burning off the exhaust could also smell. If it is a sweet smell could be coolant leak from either heater core or radiator.

Where is the smell coming from?

My sister-in-law ran over a trash bag and was stuck and burning off the exhaust.

It is most definately a stinky smell nothin sweet about it haha. It is coming from under the hood and it is in the cabin as well those are the only places. like right when i open the hood after a drive wooosh that smell in my face. the only fresh painted piece is the radiator itself

fresh radiator and antifreeze, you hit the nail on the head, check for leak, if no leak I would wait till radiator bakes the paint and get a half a dozen pine tree air fresheners and hang from rear view mirror till cured
