I had an orange box in my 78 D200 with a MSD Blaster 2 coil and never had any problems. I also ran champion plugs and 8mm wires.

Agreed, just don't forget the ballast resistor.

This is the one that I got from Summit Racing. It has a .700 Ohm resistor.

ive also heard that you cant run certain MSD parts with certain "stockish" parts..but i dont know of anyone who has actually had a problem with the combo.

You mean like a controller? I have an MSD 5900 ignition box and blaster two coil that I am thinking about installing in my Valaint with a slant 6.

maybe it was with the magnum rams...if you used the MSD box you had to also use a certain MSD coil or it was causing computer issues or something...

I have run MSD coils on my 2000 and 2001 Dakota's with 3.9L motors and had a friend run on on his 5.2L in a 98 Ram. never had an issue, of course we were also running 8mm wire. I'm not sure if running stock 6mm-7mm wires would have that much effect on it.

It could be wiring in an ignition box on a magnum motor though.
