Would these wheels fit on a Dart?

Hey guys ive been just looking through my Summit Racing catalog and i came across these wheels Aero 50 series, Ive heard from other guys who know a lot about dodge and say they might not fit due to the them being 7in wide and Dodge's widest wheel able to fit without modifications is a 6inch wide wheel? here is a link to summits site to the wheel
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AEO-50-174535/

I also found the replica Chrysler Ralley wheels 56 series and 61, the bolt patterns are different anybody know the Bolt pattern for a 72 Dart off the top their heads?

If you have the 5X4.5" bolt circle, then your only concern would be back spacing. If you have the stock 5X4" bolt circle, then no. Upgrading to the late A-Body ('73 and up V8 car Disc Brakes ) Disc Brakes, and replacing your rear end with the 8.25 from the same car will probably give you what you are looking for.

Hope this helps

Thanks guys for the help!, i looked at that chart and for the 72 Year it only gave me the option of w/o disc brakes for the 5x4 pattern but i have factory disc brakes on the front end. so would that mean i should go by the 73 year bolt pattern for the front? this opens up a bag of questions if this car has factory discs or not if they came only with all drums?

Measure between two non adjacent lug bolts. For instance, pick one, skip one then measure between those two...center to center. It will either be 4" or 4.5".

One question before you go taking your car apart. Do you have single piston calipers, or 4 piston calipers? ( I think that is right. ) The single piston calipers are used on the 73 and newer A-Bodies and yours would have been swapped in. It's a common upgrade for the early A-Bodies.

Thanks J

I do have 4 piston calipers, i know my buddy has a 72 Challenger and he has the massive single piston caliper, i saw those and was like wow i never seen a front caliper like that before with one giant piston.

Re-reading this post ( HURAAY FOR COMPREHENSION! ) Sounds to me like the 4" BC wheels only work with drum brakes, not disc. I believe Centerline makes 4" BC wheels, but the selection us kinda slim. You are better off performance wise as well as wheel selection wise upgrading to the '73 and up A-Body BBC disc brakes. IIRC, the early A disc brakes are a fixed caliper ( someone please correct me if I'm wrong ) whereas the later A is floating caliper.

Again, good luck!

I, personally, like the factory look Rally Wheels for your car better than those other wheels. But, I like a wider wheel on the rear than on the front. So, what I would do is measure up the wheels that you have (your stock wheels) and figure out the maximum back spacing (allowing for the tire of course) and then how close that you can get to the inside of the fender without any body modifications. Then, see if you can order a set of wheels that are your dimensions or have them made to your dimensions. Then, order tires that are different widths but the same height. Gives it that 'stuffed' look. The look is subtle but, it works! And with factory style wheels.... looks bitchin'!
Just sharing my thoughts:-)

Thanks silverick, the other wheels i have the link to are the official nascar wheels. and i measured today and the Aero wheels are too big tires wont fit when on the wheel. kind of bummed but i love the Rallye wheels which i will get very soon within the next couple of months just saved up enough for my exhaust which is getting installed hopefully this week. but i do like your thinkin of staggering the tires! plus it saves a little money too haha with the front being a bit skinnier lol. I actually have a buddy whos dad has a 72 Duster and he custom painted his Rallye wheels to match his cars color

you might be able to get the Rallyes in the width you want through Summit Racing. Check into that. I knew a guy that had his Rallyes widened for his 67 Cuda 536CID Stage V Hemi THAT Car was AWESOME! I checked after I posted, and you can get 14X6 for the front and 14X8 for the rear...That would look sweet! Put like a 195 75/14 on the front and 245 60/14 for the rear...

Hey guys so im ordering my wheels tomorrow finally. I am getting the Mopar Rallyes but i also just bought a pair of gabriel hi jackers for the rear to give it foward rake on the car so i was thinking to help with that look to order 14x6 wheels for the front with 215 60's tires and 15x6 for the rear on 235 60's. would that 1 inch difference for the wheel size make it look weird or is this a common thing you guys seen on these Mopars?

THIS IS NOT HOW you measure bolt circle

Here is one "estimator"

http://www.rockcrawler-mrt.com/boltpatternref.html

another

http://wheeltrendz.com/wp-content/up...identifier.gif

A "bolt circle" is exactly what it says---the diameter of the circle, center to center, of the bolt pattern. But you CANNON MEASURE a 5 bolt circle, because no two bolts are across the circle from each other. You can only do that on 4, 6, or a lug.

You could measure the RADIUS (from the center) and multiply x2

like they are doing here:

(This is next to impossible on a front wheel or a rear with the old tapered axle sticking out)

Actually, if you number the studs 1-5 in a clock wise direction, then measure any 2 of the odd numbered ones center to center (of the studs) you would get the measurement you are looking for, or just measure studs 2 & 4 center to center for the same result.

Also......not true. Every stud in a 5 bolt circle, measures the same distance. Every OTHER stud in a circle measures the same, whether "odd" or "even" measures the same.

These measurements do NOT provide the correct bolt circle. If you look at the links I posted, the measurements are a "trick" way to figure the circle, but DOES NOT involve measuring studs "center to center."

So i ordered this set up yesterday from Summit and changed my mind a little, 15X8 for the rear with 15X7 for the front, i just thought after seeing these wheels in person in 14's they looked small with a beauty ring so i went with one size up to 15's, they should fit as i went to a couple tire shops and they said they will fit with 235's for the rear and 205's in the front without rubbing.

I think you will have to check this out from good tire installer, because he know what works best and what fits best
