Being a 77 it is probably a truck or motor Home low compression engine.
At the most $1000 depending what is included. You can get old Motor homes Almost for free sometimes. Nobody wants them... My dad had a 77 Southwind, Gave it to the storage lot.. Did not want to pay storage any more..

The fact that it's a 1977 motor is a good thing. They were probably the strongest short blocks made - but most people don't know that. The compression might be problematic, but I recall dozens of articles back in the day when octane was being cut right and left on making low compression motors scream.
The problem is that it's from 1977 and will more than likely need a full rebuild, unless it was recently done. That has to factor into what someone is going to pay for it.
