I'll try and post some pictures of my new project. I'll be putting a gen 3 Hemi out of a 2011 dodge pickup in my 68 Dodge Dart 383 CID 727 trans white with blue interior. I'm going for the super stock look. I'll also be putting a 6 pak hood with American racing style wheel on front with steel black wheels on back.

Bob, I've had the car about 6 months and have been driving it but I can't leave anything alone for very long. I painted the hood (6 Pak) today. I have the engine ready to go just waiting on the computer and harness from Street and performance to get here should be here in about 2 weeks. We are also going to put in the spring relocation kit so I can run bigger wheels and tire on the back as well as a 4:10 posi. Things will slow down after I get the hood on I have other cars to work on but hope to be done with the dart around Aug.

Yes Bob, they are out of Mena Arkansas about 2-1/2 hours from where I live. When I bought the Hemi from one of our local salvage yards I got the motor, trans, harness and computer so everything would match up. I'm hoping to post pictures as I go with part numbers and things I have to change so the next person who wants to make the swap will not be in the dark. My friend and I have made 4 or 5 swaps with the LS1 and LS3 but this is our first hemi.

Nice... Hood looks good..... Oh ya... Lots of pictures...
The Chevy and the Ford stuff is all worked out... Kind of a plug and play almost.... The hemis seem to be a different story...Crate motors are a little better but, only a few folks you can get programming from at the moment. As far as I know?
I'm Helping out rite now with a 1964 Mustang 4.6 Mod motor and trans... 2009 Wiring loom and ecu also working on getting the ABS and traction control up and running. This has been quit a learning curve... So far 3 years in the making. Anyway's
Like the 32 sedan... Needs more chop...lol
Last one we did was a 32 Sedan Delivery back in the 80's.... It was my buddy Shellys, Frank, Pete & Jake, Eastwood, Baskerville, and I.... Auhhhhh The cool Rod & Custom Days.

Here are more pictures of my 68 Dart project. Hood came from Unlimited Products #DC114. The hood uses the stock hinges and pins in the front. I bought the pins from them, however, I would have been better off to get the pins from dodge I think the are a lot better and will last longer. The engine is out of a 2011 dodge 4x4 pickup. I sent the computer and harness to Street and Performance so they can put in the tune and add and delete what is needed in the harness also had them send me the 45 degree oil filter adapter that they show in their catalog (no Part Number). Street and Performance has the tail shaft that you will have to replace due to the truck being a 4x4. I went to the local salvage yard and bought the tail section off of a 04 2 wheel drive truck. I choose to use the Milodon center sump oil pan #MIL-31000 and pick up tube #MIL18331, however, the pick up tube didn't work for me after sending pictures of how it would not work and reordering twice so I modified my stock tube. Here is how the car looks so far. I'll relocate the springs so I can add wider tire on back in the next few week.

Here are two pictures of the bracket located at the back of the oil pan that helps hold the trans in place. The Milodon oil pan has a lip on it so rather than cut the lip I notched the alum bracket and made it fit and looks better too.

This is going to be a nice build.. So far it looks great...Love those wheels..Torque Thrust??? I wish I could afford them but there are more important things to consider that are needed more than wheels... Like a sure grip diff., trans & stall convertor, aluminum radiator, back seat cover, But all in good time...Keep the pictures coming..Love it...Very nice car...Bill

Here are some pictures of the 45 degree oil filter adapter (03-07 5.7 Hemi Durango) you have to install so you can remove the oil filter without hitting the K member. Part number for the oil filter adapter is 53021610AF. You will also have to change the boss so you can use the Wix 51335 Fram PF3512 oil filter part number for the boss is 04104511

When putting in the 5.7 Hemi in the Dart I went ahead and took out the heater assembly to give more room when putting in the 5.7 Hemi. I will install a new vintage air (you can use the Dodge air compressor with the vintage air system) system later. Also when we were putting in the engine the wiper motor was in the way go ahead and remove it before trying to install the engine. Take out all the wiring you will not need like heater hoses, fuel lines etc.

With engine in the car we are ready to put Dart on the rack and start squaring up the engine and trans and see where the motor mounts will be and to cut out the transmission tunnel to allow the engine to fit in the engine bay correctly. Go ahead and take out the front seats, carpet, door sills etc. From under the car raise up the trans as far as it will go so you can make the final measurements to be able to make your tunnel cut. See pictures of tools I used to cut the tunnel. With tunnel cut out now you can move the engine back and forth and get the correct alignment. While the Dart is on the rack go ahead and take the fuel tank and exhaust out.

Air Chisel does a good job with tunnel with clean cuts. you will have to use the sawall to cut through the trans mount because of the depth of the mount. You will also have to go back after the trans is in place and reinforce what you cut out because of the tunnel you cut out also supports your torsion bars. More picture to come.

Bob, I'll keep the OEM front K member. Today I had to cut the driver's side motor mount back to the steering box bracket and probably will have to cut the passenger side as well. I'm using a small block Chevy biscuit type motor mounts.

Here are some pictures of how we cut part of the driver side motor mount out so we can make room for the new motor mount of the 5.7 hemi. Looks like we will be able to retain the passengers side motor mount for now. Motor is square and in it's final position. We will use the stock exhaust and may have to modify the firewall on the passenger side to have room for the 2-1/2" exhaust to be routed correctly. Clearance is tight around the steering sector area has seen in the pictures below.
