'89 d150 short bed 360 new interior and lowered
I bought this truck last year and have slowly been making it my own. I removed all the chrome and plastic molding. When i bought it,there was duct tape over the windshield covering the rust holes, luckily this is the only place on the whole truck that had any. I cut out all the cancer, sandblasted and then treated the area with por15. As you can see, i ended up cutting it all the way. There wasn't enough meat left to weld to anyways. i welded in metal from an old junk belvedere hood i had.
My dad is a paint and body man so that helped a lot when it came time to finish up with bondo. While the windshield was out i figured that would be the best time to redo the dash. i used SEM brand interior paint. came out really nice. I'm very happy with it. Results are in the preparation though.. take your time. i redid all the interior plastics the same way. i purchased new carpet and seat cover online and installed myself. lower seat cover isn't quite right and still needs some adjusting. i left out all the unnecessary plastics inside the cab and left out headliner. i like minimalistic.
I lowered the truck using the same year dodge van lower control arms, and flipped the axle on top of the leafs. There is a very detailed write up on this which i followed exactly. i got the link from dustinheck (thanks bro) anyways here are pics of the progression over the last few months. ill be happy to answer any questions, I've had a blast and learned a lot. Blood, sweat and beers.
first two are at the guys house where i bought it.
