Drum to Disc on 1970 D100 Pick up Truck
I want to change from rear drum brakes to disc, but I don't know where to start. I went to Summit Racing, but the only options I see is for this types of axels Chrysler 8.75 in. , Dana 60 , Chrysler 9.75 in. How do I know if any of this ones fits?? anyone can give me Tips or show me what is my best Option??? atriotic:

Especially.
If you are running front discs, I’d leave the rears alone. drums are very powerful stoppers. Sure, changing the shoes isn’t as fun, but they have far more surface area to help stop when you have a load.
Discs self clean and don’t tend to heat up and get brake fade, but drums beat 'em out in every other way, I think. I’m not telling you not to do it, just food for thought. A well set-up drum rear is very effective.

Awhile back Mopar Action did an Article that shows how to convert the rear drums to an ABS system as well. Unless your setting up the truck for autocross this is probably a better option to get more reliable breaking and eliminate wheel lockup in the rain and snow. Also Its been awhile since I read the article but if I recall correctly the cost was under 100 bucks.
