Front lights not working 1987 W250

I just bought a 1987 W250 and the front lights don't work so I thought they just needed replaced. I bought a new headlight to put in and when I turned the lights on nothing happened. The dash lights work and the taillights work
Any ideas?

Make sure you have a good ground at the headlamp plug. Then make sure you have power at the dimmer switch.

I haven't gotten around to checking the ground so far and the driveshaft snapped yesterday so I'm currently looking for a replacement
