Repair manuals/new member

Good day all. I am currently researching the available chiltons and/or haynes repair manuals to look up at my local library. all i can find are 74-93 and 68-88. i love all of my classic trucks, but am primarily looking for 72-93 with the slant 6 and a 4 spd. i wanted to get the vin information from the books so i know what i'm looking at and/or for when i start shopping. are these the only repair manuals available?

Ideally , i am looking to rebuild the slant 6 and use or replace the manual to more/better gears. this is a philosphy i am also looking into pursuing for the 73-86 gm trucks as well. my current classic projects are a 66 c10 panel 400 small block and 4 spd saginaw, and a 64 wagoneer 2 door panel delivery tornado and t90(iirc). i had and sold before i left california a 79 c10 longbed with the 250 and saginaw 3 spd.

i love the low end these inline engines have and am looking to improve performance for daily driving and hauling. with the 400 rebuild, i have learned alot. i am looking to upgrade the inline 6s and running 4- to 6-spd manuals to improve fuel consumption.

oh yeah, new member: 35 macon, ga area, marine veteran, old truck enthusiast. more later. y'all take care.

Try looking on Ebay. I found a service manual for my 84 w150, there seemed to be a good selection on there.

Welcome and thank you for serving!

I'm sure that you can find VIN info online. The books would help once you have the vehicle.
