Steering column compatibility

I have a 1973 w100 and would like to swap in a newer steering column. the one I have is out of a 86 ram or 89 ram and my question is on the wiring. the plug is the same but is it going to be plug and play as far as the electrical connection goes?

I am aware of the other changes that will need to be made.

You need the schematics fo both electrical systems to confirm. You could rewire the newer column with the older harness....?
