Timing Question

Timing Question
Ive got a stock 360 from the 80s in my truck. Topped it with a dual plane Eddy EPS and a 4 barrel Holley. Truck is running a bit rich.
Trying to figure out timing but I'm new to Mopar.
Can't find a stock spec in the manuals I've got.
Saw online someone say 5 BTDC initial. Saw others call for 10 and yet others call for 15. Bunch call for "by ear" - I can't do that.
Anyone have advice for where to aim with timing on a stock worn out cam and heads?

It really is the "by ear" thing with an older motor. Start around 10 BTDC, and slowly work up or down.
If you don't trust your ear, just hook up a tach and vacuum gauge.
Set the timing to the best rpm and highest vacuum.
Then repeat the process with the carb idle mixture screws and finish off with the curb idle setting.
Sorry, but the older the motor, the less valuable the "specs" are.
