wiper motor has no fuse?

I was looking at a wiring diagram for my 1977 Dodge W200. I noticed the wiper motor doesn't seem to be protected by a fuse? Why? On the actually truck I believe the only protection for that circuit would be the fusible link (in the engine compartment) or maybe the (15A?) circuit breaker (between the flashers). It appears to snatch power off a light blue wire which is the main power wire fed by the ignition switch.

The wiper motor is one of many circuits I plan to switch over to relay control but, it doesn't feel wise not to including a fuse.

So, the next question is what size fuse? I understand the motor will pull a lot of current when starting up or when locked up.

A 1986 Ramcharger calls for a 20AMP fuse... that seems like a good start.

If it blows I could up the size and carry spares... sounds better than no fuse at all.

Any suggestions?

I removed all the fuses and sure enough the wipers still run. So, other than the factory fusible link that feeds the ignition switch there is no protection that I can see.

From what I understand fusible links are more for protecting the wires than the devices connected to them. The last line of defense.
