Question 72 RR Charging Problems

Hey guys i know im new here so ill try not to bother yall much, the question i have is that i have a 72 RR with a 383 and im having a charging problem. I have went through 3 new alts and all but one at the time was bad, We hooked it up and it started charging with the old VR still on, went out the next morning to get gas, turned the car off and when i went to restart it, it wasn't charging so i took it off and had it replaced once again

i finally have a working one(bench tested) but when i put the thing on and hook everything up i get no charging, i have also replaced the VR and i still have no change/charge.

on the 2 spade terminals i have 11- 12 volts one one wire and 1-2 volts on the other, and 12 volts on the battery wire terminal, the alt is also externally grounded on the grounding post

Where should i go from here

your shorting out the circuit which fries the alternators. check your grounds. take em (grounds) off and clean em. if they need to be replaced, replace em. also clean the area where they contact the frame/chassis/body and reinstall em.

all of em! at least in the engine compartment. there is 3-5 grounds...adding extra grounds is a good idea too.
