Bemp Push Rods

BENT PUSH RODS
Hi, I have a 1967 Plymouth GTX 440. The engine is completely stock except for headers and a cam. I am having trouble with it lately. The push rods on one valve keep bending. There was a ticking sound coming from the rocker, and now that just stopped. When we put the new push rod in, we noticed the the engine was banging on one side. Once the lifter filled with oil again, the banging stopped. Then, I drove the car around the block. Came home, shut it off. A minute or so later, started the car, no oil pressure. This also happened last night on the highway near 5000 rpm, but we weren't doing that in the driveway. So, and help would be great.

Well, this is the wierd thing. The guy before me started tried to start the car after sitting for 9 years, and bent 6 P R. So, he sent the heads out and had them redone. When I got the car, I bent one, but that was because of a stuck value. So, I removed the heads and freed all of the valves. Then, I got the car together and drove it for two to three hundred miles. I had flirted with 5000 rpm during this time, but never more, and not for more than a few seconds. Then, all of a sudden, doing near 5000 rpm entering the highway, I lose all oil pressure. So, last night, I removed the valve cover, and replaced the bad P R. Drove it around the block, not goig more than 3500 rpm, and then, another bent P R.
