gas gauge bounces

OK so I changed out my gas gauge in my 69 Plymouth satellite and now it bounces from empty to close to full almost like a turn signal, any ideas?

The gauge is reading the signal.. You need a gauge that is not so sensitive... You know, one that moves slowly.....
