Needed: Basket case 73-74 RR/Satty UPPER right 1/4
Hi guys. The roof project has taken a turn for the worse. I repaired and replaced the crossbrace in the front and have that square. However the C-pillars are off about 3/4" inch to the right side at the tops. I feel part of it was the rollover, but also found a possible contributing factor. The car had been hit at one time in the right rear wheel area. The right inner structure, the right side of the package shelf, and the inner wheelhouse have been pushed in about 1/2" plus. The repair was done by grafting in a right 1/4 panel and outer wheelhouse. However, the inner damage was never repaired! They just welded in a strip of metal to close the gap between the new outer, and the pushed-in inner!!
My current plan of attack is to support the car, weld in bracing, remove axle and tank, and remove the patch panel, and wheelhouses. I can get the wheelhouses from AMD, but what I really need is a STRAIGHT rear to measure off of, and hopefully a right rear UPPER 1/4 panel. Given what I need, even the most rusted-out 1/4 will serve my needs. Just needs to be straight. I can re-use my lowers, they are just fine.
So, does anyone out there in the midwest [I'm in S.E Michigan] have a rusty POS that we can use to help me? I'm on a tight budget, but I'm sure we can work something out. Good thing the stuff that is usually scrapped is what I need! Thanks to all, Scotty
