A basket case question
Ok so my brother and I have a '73 Charger with a '71 383 4 BBL and a '76 transmission. Here is our dilemma the transmission went out, the syncro for 4th is shot along with the end of the main shaft that goes into the input shaft (basically the mainshaft was wobbling inside of the input shaft I think that I can just have it machined and fixed or I can try and get a new shaft) however neither one of us know what the transmission is out of. All I have is the casting numbers and I am not sure is that will help but I was hoping that someone might know how to figure it out. The numbers are:
C-98530 (I think)
C13157
C-99380 (I think)
C 99129
Stamped into the housing is: P 833 5 732
Thank you for your help.
Very Respectfully,
Mike

I think that this is how the number on that machined surface reads. Its hard to tell, not all of the numbers are clearly stamped.
P 833 5 732
If I took this number to a dealer would they be able to tell me if I can still get parts or at least what it came out of?

Administrator with a large ban hammer !
Based on those numbers I found a production date of 4/7/77.
This link might better help you identify it. http://www.yearone.com/yodnn/tech/Ve...2/Default.aspxParts for it are still readily available.
