1988 D100 318
I just bought an 88 D100 with a 318 and an automatic transmission. Both engine and tranny are swapped in from an earlier vehicle, considering there are signs the original was a manual transmission and the engine currently in the vehicle has an edelbrock carb. I'm having issues with the carburetion on the 318 though. I'm not used to working with truck carbs, only motorcycle carbs, and the layout is a bit foreign to me. I keep getting fuel dumped out of the carb near the front of the carb after it idles for a minute. What might be going on? Are we talking about a stuck float valve or something like that? Any help would be appreciated.

I made a mistake on there... actually have a Holley. I had been looking at another truck and thinking about it when I wrote the post. Pretty sure it's a 2-barrel, but I haven't gotten into it yet. I had another post someone else responded 67gtx responded to and she's running fine now. I'm running a tank with carb cleaner through the truck, but planning on a rebuild on the carb anyway in the near future. I just have to find out exactly what carb I have and where the best place to get a rebuild kit is. Thanks for the info.
