Question V6 Shaker Hood?

I have a 98 dakota V6 and was wondering if it would be possible to put a funtinal shaker hood on. I've seen them for the 4.7L and the 5.2 but not for the 3.9. If it could be done with little modification that would be awesome! Also, I've been wanting to put a v8 throttle body on so would this help/hinder any?

the location of the thottle body differs between the two i believe. I thought about it many times about putting a shaker hood on my 01 with a 3.9. I just never felt comfortable spending that kind of money just to find out that it won't work. If you can get the part that bolts to the throttle body to line up to the hood just right then go for it. you'll need the hood kit for the 5.2 though as that would be closer to working on the 3,9 than the one that fits the 4.7.

If anything, you can always attach the "shaker" to the hood and use the air filter that is supplied with an air lid. just be ready to hear a "hiss".

Also, I wouldn't install a 5.2 throttle body on a 3.9. I have heard that it will let too much air into the motor and will would have to adjust teh computer and install a different cam. Not worth the little gains IMO.

The throttle bodies exchange. I know alot of people who have put 5.9 TB's on 5.2's and 5.2 TB's on 3.9s..they all bolt right on.

If your going to be buying a hood and like to fabricate and have some skill at it too, you could hit up the local junk yards and get a hood or two and start cutting and mocking it to fit.
