85 D100, no running lights

I replaced the fuse in my truck that controls the running lights but after a few minutes it blew the fuse. I tried to put another fuse in it but it sparked and melted the bottom of the fuse. Im not very good with electrical but what should I check before having to take it to a mechanic to have it fixed?

There must be a short in the wiring or lights that you will have to locate.
