Hello from Seattle WA, New 73 challenger guy here
This is my first post, I recently bought a 1973 Challenger and am in the process of restoring/rebuilding it. I am not a motor head by nature and deffinatly know nothing about these old mopars other than the crash course reading ive done the last couple months preparing for this. I am however very handy and learn quick, and have some great guys to help me out. This is my plan.
Take the j440 block out and rebuild it, install newer intake, carb, headers, ignition, gas pump.
rebuild 727 trans (has slapstick auto )
Install hotchkis TVS suspension package
Than minor interior work, badges, etc.
What im looking for is advice to the best after market intake and cards, as well as feed back on the Hotckis TVS install. Any other info on how best to approach these tasks or additional improvements I should be considering would be great. Or if there are other forum threads to point me to that would be helpful as well. Thanks

Welcome!
Since you will be rebuilding the motor, take you time and make sure you order matching parts. You don't want your parts creating power at different RPMs. Since you are going with a 727, I suggest buying an intake AND cam that create power in the 1500-6500 RPM range.
For headers look for a mid-length header. Loge tube headers are great for top end while shorties are great for low end. Look for something in between.
When it comes to the transmission, I'd look into getting a stall convertor with a 1800-2000 RPM rating. That will really wake up that motor.
