Hi folks!

It's now time to introduce myself...I'm 30 years old and living in Germany. As lot's of my relatives and friends grew up and live in the States, I try to spend as much time as possible over there!
I'm crazy about American Muscle Cars and own a nicely modded black 2006 Ford Mustang GT Convertible and a 1970 Dodge Challenger 383.
It really was a piece of work to find a car like that. I was looking for quite a time, in the States and all over Europe, but 3 years ago I was lucky and found an affordable one, just a couple of miles away from my place in Germany.
The Challenger had just very little rust at some typical spots (trunk floor, etc), but it was no big deal to get it back in shape
We're now going to overhaul the engine, as there was oil leaking through several gaskets and in my opinion a noticable power loss over the last 3 years.
I really appreciate your knowledge and experience and I'm hoping, that you guys could help me out with some of my questions

Cu later in the E-Body section...

Thx so much for the warm welcome guys. I signed in just a couple of days ago and must say, that you already helped me a lot. Of course I will keep on posting and share my experience and post some pics of the result ;-)
@Chally:I totally agree, this car is just awesome. I'd like to make it a bit faster, but I don't think it's going to be a wild street machine...

Long time no hear, I know...I've been away and quite busy over last 12 months. However we worked a lot on the Chally and the restoration is almost in its final stage.

-The 383 block was bored .03 over, we got new TRW forged pistons and nitrated the crank. The rods, cam and heads have been thoroughly inspected and we decided to just keep them.

-As we took care of the underbody, drivetrain, front and rear end we actually noticed that it's gonna be the hardest job. We disassembled everything, got poly bushings, sandblasted all arms and braces and finally painted and sealed every part and spot, including the engine compartment.

Now we're just about to reassemble and paint the engine. It'll take around 4 weeks and my ride ride is hopefully ready to go ;-)
I'd like to thank all of you guys for your help and suggestions, it really helped me a lot!!!
I uploaded some pictures I took the other day and I'll add some more when everything's actually finished. I'll be in here more frequently from now on and I'm looking forward to chat with all of you and get some more ideas and new suggestions!!

Cu soon

Nico
