The name "Dart" for is is well chosen, I think. No, its not a fire-breathing 340, or Hemi GTS of back in the day! But it isn't the slant-six, vinyl stripper that it was either! Pull your emotion back for a minute and you might see that it is a GREAT choice for a contemporary, NIMBLE, QUICK, car! Sorry, times change. But it might even drum-up more interest in it's predecessors! If offered in a performance, or SRT version, this will succeed. This is exactly what we need right now for the company.

I think one of these with some nice wide wheels, stretched tires, lowered with a slight bit of negative camber and you'd be set...
I really like the crosshair grill too.

Seems like me and you are about the only ones who think this car will turn out nice...

CHRYSLER ISN'T THE SOLE CREATOR,I do hope you realize FIAT, YES FIAT BOUGHT CHRYSLER.
The Charger was a big hit, looks nothing like a Charger from the ole days. Chrysler did well with the Challenger. This "Dart" is going to be a "compact car", like a Neon / Caliber / Srt-4.
Get off this site troll.

I think most of the young kids today never experienced the good old days(like myself) and dont really think twice about chrysler or someone using the name for a car that doesnt resemble it or have the same kind of passion. What i think upsets people is they hear the name challenger or charge and expect it to have sort of the same outline as the old ones so it can bring some"honor" if you want to say to the name it once held. Me personally i think they should call it something else if its not really going to look like a dart. Like what they did with the 340 got rid of it and replaced it with the 360 so the 340 could be remembered for what it was. Me personally ya it looks alright but dont call it a dart call it something else. Like the charger they should of called that a coronet not a charger.

So are you trying to say that since I'm 20 years old, I'm not experience with these old cars?
Buddy, old cars is what I grew up around. I've wanted a Dart ever since I was 3. I got my Dart when I was 12, and me and my dad STILL work on it.
TIMES change, and so do car makes and models. Whatever Fiat and Chrysler decide to build, they will build, and it's not to make us unhappy, it's to make others happy. in which turn will hopefully bring Chrysler back out of the hole and little bit and good a good economical car.

I think we all need to take a deep breath, so far it's only a pissing match, lets not let it get out of hand. Now lets all kiss and make up. NOW!

O_O............really?............. for the most part, i don't like the idea of fiat owning chrysler. all Dodge has now is the ram, challenger, and kind of charger. Just hate that they made the charger as an all automatic, four door car, just isn't a man's car now. And why did pontiac have to die, now dodge is going to die, then all us american men will have is mustangs and camaros. now i didn't call anyone a *** or offend anyone did i? lol

since chrysler was bought by fiat, why don't they not call it the dodge dart, and call it the dodge fart, cus that seems to suit that car trying to be named from such a powerful, cool, vintage muscle

it will sell, i guarantee it...i'll bet most of the people who buy it won't have even heard of a "Dart" before, i can't see many "hardcore" Mopar guys buying it and thats fine, but it is sporty looking and the kids will but it if its priced right...its actually not bad looking if i didnt know what the name comes from...

To me this car looks like all the other new ones. I just hope the name might start a conversation with the younger generation and old guys like me so they may learn about the asphalt eating Hemi Dart.

Some folks just dont like change. But as the Greek philosopher Heraclitus said "Only change is Constant". "Dont get too hung up on the past. Because when I have been able to go back to the past, it has never been as good as I have remembered it!" scotts74birds

I personally would not buy one but i agree they will sell due to sporty looks small size and GAS MILEAGE. Besides most folks could not tell you the name of what they drive much less the brand. I'll stick with the old stuff it's still cool.

Didn't some original Darts have 4 doors? I don't see the panic! Back in the day, they were the entry-level Mopar, with a hi-po version available some years! This will be the same! Yes, it will have 4-doors, but there WILL be an SRT version! I have a 90 mile round trip commute. This is what I want! Why cant you have a responsive, perky, good mileage car and feel good knowing you have a "Bruiser" in the garage? I never owned a Dart, so maybe I'm not that upset with it. But my friends DID have a Mitsubishi Challenger back in the 80's! Just tell people you have a REAL DART if it bothers you that much. There's more important things to get wound-up about. Like the election!

I heard that in my neck of the woods, they are starting at ~$15K and get ~40MPG.
