83 318 in to a 91 k5 help

hey every body! this is my first time posting. i have a 83 d150 pick up. i bought a new/rebuilt 318 5.2L, and rebuilt the A 727. drove from texas to ga. hauled a trailer around for a week, went across ga and back. the trans mount bolts came loose half way in between. nuckel head i am, i drove it to make a dead line. needless to say the reverse went out around 3000 miles. b4 and when rebuilding the trans i think it came out like 6 times to change something. im sick of fooling with it. my girlfriend has a 91 k5 blazer that wont run. i have the 3 year 100,000 warrenty on my 318. but i havent done a project this big yet. i have no clue if its possible with in a small budget, i figure i would need to rebuild the trans in the k5, get a trans adaptor, trans linkage, motor mounts, some kind of exhaust setup-no emission required. i want to run the engine as is, just switch everything over. can anybody offer any advice. im kinda shooting in the dark on this one. it would be way easier to just rebuild my trans, but i think it grts tecq. with the transfer case and drive line specs. also what kind of hp. diffrence is there btween the 5.2L 318 2barrel and the 5.7L 350 tbi. the dodge is a great work truck, but looks like crap. plus the k5 is 4x4 and is in verry god shape body wise. it would be used for towing a trailer max 8000lbs, and around town some 4 weeling i imagan.

Sell the 318 on craigslist and buy a 350 hon. Best advice I can give. If it was a big block that might be worth it but itll be so much slower than a fuel injected 350 you'll regret doing it. So unless you are just out to make a hybrid for show it isnt worth it. Good luck!

What you should do is fix the trans in your truck. It would also be the cheapest way too...Drop the pan and check the front band.. the strut may have fallen out or the ear on the band may have broken if all the forward gears work. DO NOT DRIVE IT that way

X3! Fix the Mope, and put a newer LS with maybe some torque mods into the K5! Always loved the full size K5 Blazer. The new LS is a great starting point for a build like that! Hate to send you elsewhere for that, but I'm sure you can find a K5 forum that will show you how to do the LS swap.
