C-Body Gas tank
Leaky gas tank in my 66. We just cleaned it and replaced the sending unit and filler tube grommet to find tank has a small leak on top which only spills when tank is past 3/4 full or when accelerating at high rate of speed (one legged burnouts). I'd just slap in a new one but it seems 66 C-Body tank is NLA. Anybody now of a resource for a new tank?
Since I know that answer is most likely gonna get a chuckle, I'll settle for a recomended tank sealer and any tips you may hold.
Thanks in advance.

i took the tank out of my 67 sport fury to my local radiator shop to get boiled out. when they got done boiling all the gunk out of it they discovered like 4 holes in it which they patched for me then they lined the tank 4 me. total cost for boiling, patching the holes and lining was $250. lots cheaper than the almost $500 for a new tank. you might consider this option. its been 3 years now and ive had no problems with it.

Will the b- body Tank fit on a 68 chrysler newport, also want a smaller tank so there is more room for dual exhaust. Also will the fuel sending unit have to be different as I found a B-Body Tank on ebay that comes with the sending unit for 165 shipped. Also if I can only buy a c-body tank for my newport how many vents should it be. Thanks.

No idea about gas tank stuff but on 67, 68 and 70 newports there is Tons of room for a dual 2.5"exhaust no problem with factory tank! I have them. Just a little side note.

I just bought a gas tank this month and installed it on my 64 Chrysler 300. The car sat for 10 years and after power washing and lots of other things it wouldnt come clean of all the residue and sediment. A local rad shop wanted 400 plus to clean out the inside. then they wanted even more to remove all the undercoating on it...I ended up buying one here: http://www.valleyvintagestore.com/fueltanks.html cheaper to buy it then fix the old. Fit perfect.

Does this new tank hold more gallons than your old stock tank? I'm in the market to get a new tank for me 66 Fury III (383) and am having a horrendous time finding one. Do you happen to also have the link of the tank you purchased from Spectra? Did you have to use different tank straps or were the original ones good for your new tank? Any photos you can share would be awesome.
