an old friend what to do
hay guys, i really don't know were to start but here it is. my name is Scott Butler and i'm from n.j.(don't hold that against me) as a bunch of us in the 70" i to had a rough life as a kid growing up and wound up in a reform home for runaways at 10 years old. wile my stay there was a long one i did make a friend in one of the counselor's his name is Everett, he took me under his wing. Everett was a big man a no nonsense kind of guy, he would take me to his home on the weekend's when the big wig's were gone and we would cut the grass, go fishing, hunting and just hang out being a kid, but the one real reason i went to Everett's house was to look at & wash his cuda, 70 71ish. it was yellow with the black stripe down the side with a white top and was the baddest car i ever saw and i fell in love with my first ride at 12yrs old. i went to Everett's home for 2 years to help with the chores and to see the car 1978 79. one saturday came and i went and the car had a dent in the front fender and the grill was broken i asked what happened and Everett told me his sister hit a fence post, wow i think i was hurt as much as Everett but the car was not that bad and he told me he would fix it. Well time went by and i was saved by an aunt who found out i was in the reform home and that was the last time i saw Everett or the car, Nov of 1979. well guy's i'm just about 43 now and have a wife and son and things are good. my son just started kindergarten and my wife and i took him to his first day. it was big thing for mom and me so afterwards we went for a ride just to air out are heads, Hay were in are mid 40" with a 5yr old (crazy). so anyway we went down a road that we would never go down just riding and something told me to look and a small part of a tail light caught my eye at this old farm house, i told my wife to turn around and when she did a flashback came to me like i was there before so we pulled up the drive and there it was. i found the car sitting in the same spot with the same damage from the late 70". guy's when i put my hands on the her i cried it just got to me that bad. i'm far from a push over but it just got to me. the car is in bad shape but it's all there. the house is abandoned, no phone, no electric, the grass is 4ft tall and i cant find Everett. i have checked out death records, Hospitals, neighbors, no nothing of what happened to him. he would be an older man now mid to late 60" or so. Does anybody have any suggestions?. i don't just want to tow the car away but if new jersey has claim on the property they will just junk it.

what a story man, My eyes misted up on that one, thast awsome. I would try talking to the neighboring houses, most people know who owns the land around them.1 of them may know that much, then go from there, check the county courthouse tax accessors office on the property, gaurantee someones paying the current taxes on the place, good luck, .

Here is a link to a property tax search engine for NJ, just put in the address and you get all the current owner info... Good luck!
