This will make you cry...

In the attached picture, you'll see a 1967 Dodge Coronet 500. 2door hardtop, bucket seats, 318 V8. It was a complete car except for a damaged hood. LOST... to a grass fire started by an arsonist about 5years ago. What a shame.

That is sad. Did they ever catch the person who set the fire?

would/could you rebuild this car after sitting through a grass fire? the glass is melted into puddles in the car, and it's thoroughly rusted. It burned about 5 years ago, and has sat there since, rusting. Wouldnt the metal be too thin?

And about catching the person... yes, the owner of the salvage yard has a lawsuit pending on the guy. The fire burned over 150 cars. Alot of good ones too, if you are into 4door cars. Just a few sporty ones, like that Coronet. There was a 62 Impala 2dr hardtop and that Coronet 500 2dr hardtop, those were the only 2 I was very interested in, other than the 67 Belvedere I took home.

what would be some of the "concerns" you would have to address that would be different than with a non-burnt car? I have read alot of places that say to stay away from such projects. I'm curious to hear contrasting opinions!

Intense heat will weaken the metal.
