1998 Intrepid 3.2
I recently had a problem pop up with the charging system,,, the battery light comes on. I have changed the alternater and had it bench tested at Auto Zone,,, it tests good. I also replaced the engine controll computer with a known working unit, and I still have the battery light.
Any ideas would be sincerely apppreciated. ![]() |

check the voltage regulator if they still use them on the newer cars.start the car up.have someone sit inside while you go wiggle wires around on the harness and see if there are any loose connections.this sounds stupid but you'd be surprised.

I agree with the wire wiggle number. I have found the same problem with my sons dodge shadow. Come to find out the wires at the starter were loose and not makeing a full connection. Tightened wires problem taken care of.

If you haven't got it fixed already, look closely at the battery conn. Having worked at Chrysler dealers for a little over 9 years i can tell you i have seen this more than once. Most of the time what happens is, because of the batt. location, they were prone to severe corrosion causing bad conn.at batt. and also corroding into the batt. cables. This may or may not be the issue, but its very common umung the later LH bodies. Keep me posted!
