440 big block, vent pcv hose and cap on the carb?

What im doing is installing a oil catch can in the PCV line. Would it be ok to run my pcv hose to the can and just vent the can to the atmosphere or should I run a line back to the carb?

What are you trying to accomplish?
The catch can should be installed in the line between the pcv valve on one valve cover and manifold vacuum, with a breather on the other valve cover. If you are getting oil out of the pcv valve make sure that valve cover has a baffle under the opening for the pcv valve.

Yea the valve cover has a baffle in it, still drips a bit of oil and makes a mess all over my intake manifold and in turn blows all over my windshield. I know when I ran boost on my other car me and a few others just ran a breather on the other end of the catch can instead of running a line back from the can. With boost theres enough crankcase pressure so.
