440 question???

Hi there I'm new here and have a quick question that I'm sure some of you guys might be able to help me out with. Ok first off my mom recently inheireted a 440 mopar, and she doesn't know the first thing about. She wants to get sell it and is not sure what its worth. So my question is how much should she ask. The reason I'm asking you guys is that my uncle, who she received it from had put a lot of money into the engine, and she doesn't want to get ripped off. If anyone could help me that would be great. I got a couple numbers off the engine if that helps anybody to determine its value.

On the engine block itself was stamped the numbers 4006630-440-1
Under the valve covers was 4006452

If these numbers are useless please let me know where to find the useful ones. Thank you

4006630 is a 440 engine that was born in the year of 1978
Without knowing what he done to the engine (parts machine work etc) it would be hard to give a $$$$$$$.
But I live in the center of the states and the average 440 that was taken out of a running car is going anywhere from $400.00 to $800.00 .... The price is based on how clean the engine is, if it has all the stuff on it, does it need rebuilt etc ... The price would also go up if someone could hear it running compared to a pulled engine ...

Slow 420 is right, without knowing the amount of work needed itw hard to give an estimate. Where I live (New England) a good 440 with some money and good parts already put into will run $700-$1000

Popular hot rodding did a budget build 440 in their May issue. They got a core 440 from a salvage yard for $160.00 - I paid $900.00 for a block, forged crank, and rods here in Connecticut.
