I am mainly looking at a dodge d100 to buy between 1970 and up, but a car would be nice but to much money. I found some d100 at a decent price and most of them had a v6 but would putting a 360 in be a good idea. My main purpose is to have a truck that can be driven daily and have some power also

You are better off buying an original V-8 truck instead of a slant 6 truck if you want to put a 360 in it.
Why? Because you will have to change the K-frame or buy a slant 6 to V-8 engine swap kit. You will need to change the transmission to a smalll block V-8 type transmission. Change the driveline, rear end, get a bigger radiator, and buy tons of other parts needed to reconfigure the slant 6 truck to a v-8. $$$$$$
Trust me. I learned the hard way converting a slant 6 car to V-8.
To answer your original question about the motor, I would NEVER, EVER, EVER buy a motor online I couldn't see for myself. And since 1974 spec engines didn't have as much horsepower as earlier 70's engines, I'd buy a decent 60's - 70's motor that needed to be rebuilt and take it a shop that will warranty the work.
Just because they advertise something online doesn't mean you will get what you pay for. Then you will be stuck with it.
Check out this website regarding the motor you are looking at. This is the company that remanufactures it. I'd say these guys find a 360 motor, clean it and send it. Without tearing it down and rebuilding it.
If you choose to buy, make sure it's with a credit card so it can be disputed.

Good luck!!

Starting off with a truck that already has a V8 in it will be much easier. Also, if you want a 360 to use as a DD and have some power, I would just go fo a Mopar crate motor that is already built. Most of the time all they need is a carb, headers and dizzy and are already putting out 300+ HP and torque.
