please help!

just bought 65 chrysler 300 wih a stock 383 4bbl. car ran fine except somtimes when it got hot it would run rough and stall, it would always start right back up and i would drive on. yesterday it stalled and would not restart. got it home and left it thinking it would be fine after it coled down but today it will start but as soon as i put it in gear it sputters and stalls . i cant move it, any ideas? :banghead:

Check Fuel filter and gas tank sock. If the car has been sitting it could also have a tank of bad gas. Also check the condenser and the coil.

If you think it's bad gas, restricted delivery or vapour lock, I would take a gas can of fresh gas with a hose directly to the fuel pump. Run it till hot and see what happens, this may give you some of the answer easily but a look inside the fuel bowl is warranted. What type of carb is it? Make sure your choke is fully open when hot. Pulling your plugs will give alot of information too.

thanks for the help so far i have replaced the points, roter was incorrect for the car, correct one on order had a roter for a 6 cyl instead of an 8. just goes to show never trust the guy who says dont worry its all new!
