How do you get your original holley brown gasket material off?

How do you get your original holley brown gasket material off?
or even apart. I have three old Holley's in good mechanical shape but DRY , none will come apart and I hate to gouge the heck out of them to take the bowls and plates off.

Thanks, never thought of using Permatex , the two worst are the ones I need most. Used very little- 450's on a tunnel ram, but old and dried up rubber and gaskets.

Use the new Blue gaskets... Much better... And Reuseable too...
For the hard to remove stuff... Get the Drimall kit "From Harbor Freight" and get the wire wheels. Its a big help also.... Cheep too...

I keep the blue ones on hand in bulk. 4150 and 4160's I still run into the old lacquered brown paper ones now and again, like concrete if old and never rebuilt. I spray either Pam or silicone spay on my rebuild gaskets now. Really makes the gaskets reusable. The 450's are going on my rod so I do want to scratch or gouge them up.
