That is not a mopar carb so you will definately need the adapter.. Maybe cut the lever down...

Also Try a couple of other things at the moment.....
Plug the PCV port at the carb.....
Also Plug the The Brake Booster at the Intake for now...
See if that helps......

If that dose not help...And providing there are no vacuum leaks.. I'm going to have to say that. It is my understanding that the cam to crank timing is not set up correctly... That would be next on my list of things to go in and look at... Sorry....

The brake booster and the PCV valve has been always plugged like you recommended, I think there's nothing more to check so it's time to remove the heads. I have a couple questions about this procedure because I've never done this completely by myself.

Where can I find the torque specs for this heads?

Which recommendations should I take in count while removing the heads and putting back on?

Is there a torque wrench plug set that will you recommend for this procedure (heads removal, crank pulley removal, etc) ?

I think you should check the cam to crank timing alignment first....
Are you sure you are up for that task? This might be a task for someone with a little more experience. (No Offence)
1-You will need a good Service Manuel.... Like a Motors Manuel.... To get the specs you need.
2-Not sure what your getting at?
3-That would be Auto 101...
Way to in-depth... Sorry

Don't worry, any recommendation will be welcome, but to be honest with you, I want to do the job by myself for learning purposes and because I've more time and patience than my mechanic so the ending results will be better.

I've previously done some work with friends on chevy 327 and 350 but never on mopars but I think will not be much difference (or I hope so...)

What about this book? http://www.amazon.es/Rebuild-Small-B.../dp/1613250584

If I remove the radiator, fan hose and pulleys, do you think I'll be able to check the cam timing alignment without pulling the engine out the car?

Yes... Just pulling the front apart will get you there so you can check that.
