replacement 727 dipstick?
the top cap can slide up, and the rubber seal can slide down. was the seal bonded to cap originally? Are the seals available? Was hoping I could buy the stick assembly new but haven't found it.
I prefer to to stick with oe if possible.
Any ideas?
Thanks

still there but worn down, and the slot in the metal cap has enlarged some. I used a punch to tighten it up for the time being.
what about the any metal washer on the engine side of the cap seal?
Metal cap could slip over top tabs, but not bottom ones. Not realizing the correct cap location, I had been holding the cap on the lower set of tabs while checking lever, but this gives a low fluid reading, which in turn gives rise to over filling.
something to watch out for.
