Sure, if you have an amplifier with conventional analog outputs ("plain old speakers")
Go to Radio Shack and buy this:

Pick up a 2000 ohm (2K) resistor, and whatever cables you need to (cut and splice) to hook the speaker (low impedance) side of the transformer to your amplifier output on one speaker.
Wire the 2K resistor across the high impedance terminals. This protects the thing from transients. Wire your tach to 12V as designed, and ground one lead of the high impedance winding, and hook the other to your tach trigger lead.
Google the internet for musical tones, and convert that to what your tach would read, IE 440hz is 6600RPM
