try to find a shop that rebuilds/ repais starter and alternators. they should be able to fix it for you as long as teh windings didn't get burned up. it may just need new brushes installed

The first thing is, are you SURE the motor is what is bad? The 2, 3 speed, and variable speed setups are all wired a "little tricky" and use such things as ground leg switching.

I hope you have gone through the steps in the factory shop manual for testing?

I did not check the manual first ! the motor is prob origanal and has not had a inspection sticker since 1984 so I can only assume it last worked around that time. when we had the engine out I cleaned all the connections on the bulkhead block and coated them with deox non conductive grease then when I reinstalled the wiper motor it did not work. so i removed the electric connector and used a test light to check switch operation it was fine ! so I disected the wiper motor (after finding out that they are not available new)ebay $300.00 ouch !!!!! found the brushes were gumed up armature was green cleaned them and reinstalled yea ha works great both speeds
