Door stuck closed

My 65 Sport Fury Convertible's driver door has decided to stick closed. Have removed the door panel and can't see any obvious blocks. When either the outside button or the lnterior lever are moved, the door opens about 3/4" when it stops with a clunk. Have not been able to get it open more than that. It will reclose with no problem.
any ideas??

Might try lifting up on the door as you pull on it. It may be hung up on the striker. Just a thought.

When you say "the door opens about 3/4" when it stops with a clunk", it sounds like there is something that it is catching in the door jamb. I would check your body panel clearance between your fender and your door. You can compare the gap (measured at multiple locations along the height of the door) to the passenger side and make sure that they are similar.

Thanks Mr.4sp, hope it doesn't come to that but only have to deal with the passenger door this way.
will continue to compare the two door until I'm ready to weld
