727 transmission

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I own a 1972 dart that I am looking to put a 68' 340 in and just found a 727 for $125. Called the guy to see what it was from and he sais it was built for a newer model truck but not used. He also said that someone else came and measured it and it would mount to a 68' charger perfect but wanted overdrive so didn't buy it. I don't think this would fit in my car with out modification but wanted to double check with you guys first. He claims it is fully rebuilt and that he changes fluids regularly. Please any input on this would be nice.
