new guy here!!!!
hello all. well to introduce myself im jake in san diego and im 26. im in the navy and so far im on my 2nd duster. first one was a 73 with a 318 and 4 spd. the new girl is a 74 with a built 340 and a 727 set up.
ill start off by askin a question. i have the 8 3/4 suregrip with 3.55 gears. i would like to lower my cruising rpms with out losing to much of the get up and go ...... my old one had same rear with 3.23 .... it was a good cruiser but also had the 4spd. would i be ok goin with a 3.23 or can i go lower. the engine in this car has gobs of power to move it so im confident a lower gear wouldnt bog her down to much..... your thaughts are appreciated.....

The 3.23 will work fine with that drivetrain, your cruising rpm will be about 3k@ 60mph. My 340 Demon had that setup in it from the factory and i never had any problem making it move when it needed it.
