ugh carb problems?

Ok so I posted on here about a wk ago and got a pretty good answer to my question but would like some collective answers lol. So at part throttle and mostly while going up hill or under load my holley 600 surges. Was told to jet up cuz of a lean condition but would also like to know if it could possibly be a bad cam or dizzy or possibly something else before I go ahead and tear into my brand new carb. Vacuum is at 20hg so I def know its not a leak trans shifts way early. Could this have anything to do with it. Possibly too much load and not enough gas depending on load. Thanx in advance to everyone.

Generally, an ignition problem that would cause something approaching a surge would also cause backfire through the carb

I think this is either a carb or fuel delivery problem

Super easy to do on a Holley. Whatever changes you plan, do one at a time. That will let you know for sure if you have corrected the problem. Too many guys change multiple things and if better still a mystery, if worse then more confusion.

I do that all the time but usually it fixes the problem and then I don't know what I did that fixed it! Almost as frustrating but not really because it's fixed! Can't learn anything that way though so your words are words of wisdom indeed. Patience is required to follow this philosophy though! I'm lacking in that dept I'll admit!

Could be as easy as a float adjustment. Your fuel level may be too low.
