Question 1970 Roadrunner/satellite question

Did the 70 roadrunner back windows only come as rollups? or did some come with the popouts? or was the popouts only available with satellite? can someone help me with certain things that only came with roadrunner that didn't come on satellite? I know the dash clusters are different. Thanks

Hi,
My 70RR has the pop out windows. There were also hardtops that had all windows roll down.

is there anyway possible for me to tell if the car has been retagged to say it's a RR but it's really a satellite? Cars are easy to retag especially the older ones.

Hmmm, not exactly sure. But, there should be three places on the vehicle that contain the vin number: fender tag, post on driver's door and left front of the dash. Not sure if there is one under the car somewhere. Somebody else may know.Tough to say whether somebody would change all three. Also, if original rear seats are in vehicle, there should be a broadcast sheet with info tucked in the underside springs.

didn't come with original seats so no build sheet. according to fender tag car was built in california plant and i was told by email by govier that most cars out of that plant didn't have build sheets in cars. they were thrown away. I been reading alot and I've looked at a few things on the car but ur right theres another thing to change if its not a RR. the dash, the taillights, but i've just ben curious. thanks marty. I mite try to sell it cuz I really want a 69 super bee like my dad had wen I was a kid.

On the back side of the radiator support and the trunk drip rail, drivers side, hidden by the rubber, look on the underside. These two locations on the 70 will also contain at least 8 digits of the serial number and should match exactly. If they don't, Either it's been re-tagged or it's had some repairs. If it has roll down windows, it should start RM23, if it's pop out windows it's RM21. The fender tag will also contain the serial number on the bottom line.

If you're seriously looking at the car and have some last minute important questions and want to have me handy on the phone, I can give you my number in PM, but please, make sure it's important, I'm pretty hard of hearing and using a phone is difficult for me. BUT... if you're about to buy the car, I'll be willing to share what I know to try and help you make sure you are getting what you're supposed to be getting.

If you have the VIN, we can run it and that will tell you what it is. You'll want to find the VIN stamp on the vehicle to make sure that it matches the tag.

The RR was available either as a hardtop with roll down windows or as a post car with the pop out windows , they are lighter with the pop out windows !!
