Not according to my numbers. It should be 9:1. Could be wrong though. Oh well. . .we'll see.
The roll cage came today!!!! Sweet!! Just waiting on my tube notcher and angle finder to come with a few other tools to add to the collection before i can dive in to this item on the list. More still on the way.

Taking a little break after dinner to post.
So its almost the end of day 2 of a 9 day build with my brother. Hes back in the states and were pushing to get a lot done. Taking a little vacation so to speak. The power add-ons will have to wait till December. Instead we've opted to tackle the roll cage, bodywork and paint, power steering and interior during the push.
Yesterday we finished and installed the new power steering unit, cut the hood to fit the Mr Gasket scoop which looks SICK now with the scoop peakin out, and started stripping the paint from the body with Aircraft remover.
Today i started on the cage while my brother worked on the body/paint. Got the main hoop tacked and plates welded in. Replaced a section of the floor pan on the drivers side. After we go back out to the garage we'll finish up on the rear of the car, start notching the corresponding tubes for the rear of the cage and tighten up little odds n ends.
Parts keep trickling in and so far the project is going somewhat accordingly. If the car is a solid color by the end of the week and is caged. . .i'll be a happy man. And with that, im heading back out.
Pics to come later tonight

67 GTX-The frame on the car is great. Aside from the usual rusty areas like the lower part of both the windshield and rear glass, its in great shape. We got lucky.
So its sunday afternoon and we have 2 more days of camp mopar. I must say that SEM rust-arrestor rocks. It looks great, dries quick and is really durable-awesome stuff.
The car is looking really good. The corner lights, fender mounted turn signals, antena and emblems are shaved. All rust was cut out, cleaned up, SEM'd and replaced with new metal. Both the windshield and rear glass have been removed. The roll cage will be getting the 2 rear bars today. Im so exhausted i cant really think of everything that has been going on. But i have love every minute of it thats for damn sure. And now for the pics. . .

Thanks guys. Im glad you folks are enjoying the thread. Ive watched so many build threads but a lack of pics always leaves ya wondering. I'm a visual kinda guy. I love pics. And now for more. . .
As camp Mopar comes to a close were left with this. . .
1st coat-

My gun and compressor were giving me hell so the 1st coat is not as uniform as it should be. Good thing its a 1st coat. . .lol. You can really see it on the hood. .

This is an awesome thread. I am very glad that you are posting pics. I too am a visual man so it is great that you are posting them. The car looks f--ing great. I am impressed that you are doing it all on your own.
Hey man, very cool car project, I have a question for you. I have the same car, same motor, same colors, same interior, same year! I love it. I just saw the wheels on it and really like. How did you get the stripes off of the rims?
Thanks
Thanks
Its just about one year to the day that this project officially started and yet again its time for a push in the build. This time its all about the power. Not too bad for a project spread out over a few week-long builds throughout the year . .
This coming January will be fun. The D60 will be here, the 440 and tranny will get some love and the cage will be finished.
quick item list:
Strange engineering D60 w/Worm posi
440 Source Stealth aluminum heads
Comp cam
cam bearings
new lifters
timing chain
cam hardware
push rods
rings
MSD Distributor
blaster coil
ARP hardware
2800rpm high trq converter
bunch of tools to do the job right . . .
Should be a 9-10 day build. The charger gets the 440 and 727 yanked, pushed out for the garage to transition in to the motor build and all while the cage gets finished.
Other than that its just a normal winter holiday season around these parts. Cold air, warm sun and short days with a lot of family time.
Happy holidays!

The Charger has yet to see any track time but most definitely will in the near future. The Nova did once upon a time but the 350 was removed, sold and used the money to pick up a straight six, repaint it and give it as a grad gift to my younger sister. She drove it all of once before it saw its resting current place in the garage. So its just sitting, waiting for another V8. Next on the chopping block i suppose.
The one that spent the most time at the 1/4 track was our 68 MalibuSS clone. I'll never really forgive my pops for selling that car(long story). It was a beast. Memories. I need to locate a scanner so i can create some digital copies of photos i have. Man i miss that thing.
pics of the nova fresh out of the spray booth. some of the only digi pics of this i can find

HEY APOLLO GREAT POST AND PHOTOS!
I just found a good running 440 with a 727 trans for chump change today.
and i want to do install it in my 72 charger but i am keeping it basicly stock.
what changes absolutely had to be made for the car to take the 440 and extra weight?
from reading this post these are the things i assume i have to change-
drive shaft
rear end
radiator
motor mounts
trans mount
and did you have to replace or adjust-
front coil springs
shocks
torsion bars
shifter linkage
or ?????
THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

Nothing is really needed except a few things but i went the extra mile and built up, reinforced and modified a bunch a stuff while i had the car under the knife. If the car had a frame to take off it would have been done ( frame-off resto) but it doesnt and im just as happy doin it the way i have... Im actually doing another build push as we speak but im leaving the pictorial update for next week when i have all the pictures upload and write up done. Stay tuned!
Quick answer to get in and drive away-
Shifter or modified slapstick
driveshaft
radiator
motor mounts
tranny mount.
Mopar was smart and everything swaps over on the B-bodies pretty easily and without modification. Good luck and write up a thread on your build!!

THANKS FOR THE HELP!
Im planning on starting my build in about a year. so i can strip the car down and paint it and swap the motor at the same time. and hopfully by then have all the extra parts needed by then. but when i do it all i am going to photo it all and post it like you did.
THANKS AGAIN! AND GOOD LUCK WITH THE REST OF YOUR BUILD!

So here we are again, another camp mopar at a close. This time around was a little less productive due to the new 9-5er but we still accomplished some crucial goals while my brother was in the states.
Roll cage is fully welded and finished, brakes are rebuilt, undercarriage is fully re-coated with 3M Shutz, drive shaft safety loop installed and a few other things i cant remember. Just trying to focus on tuning the engine for the coming months. We want to drive it around in the final stages of completion. Just too damn tempting. So the door bars wont be installed until the 540 stroker goes in next year, the car will still retain most of its weight and it will be family driven for the most part . .
