1980 Chrysler New Yorker

fellow members. greetings

I am based in Beirut Lebanon. I am a fan of 70s era cars in general and some american cars also. I do have small collection of 70s cars.

My latest purchase is 1980 Chrysler New Yorker R body with only 15,000 original miles.

The car is cream with leather tan interior and 360 2 barrel engine.

I have bought car by Internet from Golling Chrysler /Dodge in Michigan USA . the car is still at New York Port awaiting shipping to Beirut v soon.

I notice this is Chrysler forum but I could NOT see any section covering the R bodies !?

From my research I understand R body is basically a modified B body. I appreciate any expert feedback regarding my 80 New Yorker.

I learned something today, I didn't know about the R body, but I do remember the cars. One of Chrysler's last big body sleds.

Posts some pictures, I would like to see them.

I have been told by some the R bodies were NOT very successful but others say opposite.

I appreciate any expert feedback negative or positive regarding my 80 New Yorker.

R bodies versus M bodies

I wanted to ask this for a while.

Regarding my 80 New Yorker which is an R body when compared with any M body car I notice majority prefer M over an R and thats Not just for being a smaller package car.

In engineering and techincal terms what makes the M bodies superior to the R bodies ?
If its superior at all

M was a mid size class
R was a full size class
M Class stuck around long... Just demand I would guess....
