Unhappy Help??

I have a 1976 D-100 stepside 2 wheel drive with a 76 440 we pulled out of Winnebago motorhome. The motor was refreshened and had a mild street pounder cam put in it. Other than that it is stock internals. It has a 600 cfm Edelbrock 1406 carb on it sitting on a Weiand dual plane intake. The distributor that is in it now is the one that was on the motor when it was in the motorhome. I was wondering if this would be a problem as i havnt gotten the truck even close to where it should be running. It breaks up alot from take off to 2750ish rpms and after that on up it runs better but still not where it should be. Plugs look dry and whiteish in color..Lean yea i know! Stock fuel pump and water pump yet. I still run the electronic box which is silver not the Orange box and the ballast resistor is a 4-prong not the 2 prong. The tranny is a 727 that was on the motorhome, I put 4.10 gears in the 8.75 rear posi I found and that end works great. Just had to shorten the drive shaft and get it balanced. It is the #742 casting btw. Just wondering if ya'll had any input or suggestions on where to look or what im doing wrong? Thanks!!!

The problem with the motorhome trans is that a lot of them had an emergency brake added to the tail shaft

600 cfm is too small for a 440

Yes very true however I got lucky and the one i ended up with didnt have one. I figured it was, looking at 750 cfm Demon for it and eliminating the ballast resistor and electronic control box all together...All depends on the $$$ situation and it aint lookin good so we'll see lol!
