65 Satellite Fender Tag Missing
65 Satellite Fender Tag Missing
I have a 1965 Satellite that I have owned for the last 46 years, in fact I drove it to high school. It still has the factory 426 and 727. The amazing thing the car survived me and has been kind of been redone one way or another over the years but it's still complete and original. About 30 years ago I had the engine out to redo everything under the hood including cleaning up and painting the engine compartment. Well all those years ago I let the original fender tag get away from me and I can not believe that to this day but I have been through absolutely everything and it's gone. Well I have been to the Chrysler Historical Society and I have the IBM card for this car and a nice letter from them decoding it. Years ago I had originally gone to Galen's and had an awful experience that cost me money and I never did get a replacement tag. But now looking I find others that can reproduce the tag again. Any suggestions of whom does a nice job today and would anyone take a picture of their fender tag on their 65 Satellite and send it to me so I know what my new one should look like.
Thank you for your help and this car is pretty far up on the foodchain of my collection of cars. I want the fender tag back.

Thanks Bob, I'll be contacting them. On the MMCDetroit website they have a pictures of what the fender tag looks like and there is not much info on it as I remember. Trim and paint codes and maybe a couple more items and that's about it. But I feel so bad to think that I lost that original tag. I know I thought I was being so cool to fill in all the misc. holes and unneeded opening in the panels and I left that fender tag off. But I cant' believe I didn't stash it in the car somewhere but I have turned that car inside out and it's gone. Now I want it back and want to mount it back on the original holes. How times and our opinions change. But I'll let you know how it goes.
The problem was I was very young and so was this car and now it's important to me to document it as it's kind of a rare bird with the original engine. What's really cool is I have the original 426 hood ornament on the car too. That and the red, white and blue grill insert makes that front end special.
Take care my friend and thanks for the help.
