'67 Coronet 440 - Couple questions
Hello,
New to the forum. I am looking at buying a 67 Coronet 440 this week. Wanted to see what you all have to say about it. He is asking $15,000 and it was appraised at $17,000. For a safety it needs e-brake cable, horn, and hood hinges. All of which I can have done for $700 or so. Attached are some pics. What does everyone think? (yes its green)
EDIT: Can anyone verify this engine as a 440? I am not that great with old engines however this car is going to be kinda like a project.

It runs perfect and the entire exhaust and underbody is pretty much new. Its gotta be one of the best sounding 60's muscle cars I've heard. Mind you it has exhaust cut outs so its got that raspy sound

Appraisal seems kind of high. Were any other sales used as a comparison? Your right, it is a project. That price might close if it was on a complete and near flawless one. You will have to put a lot of money and time in it to get to that value.

money isn't an issue in the long run. It doesn't need any single expensive part, in my opinion anyway. It's just lots of small upgrades and replacements. Probably go with a black paint job tho

Looks like a rust hole in the DS inner fender at the firewall. They never fixed the dent in the "B" post. The rear window mouldings are falling off, probably due to the clips and roof lip rusted away. The dash and headliner are junk. That thing is probably so full of filler it will disintegrate over the winter! It's probably not worth what it cost them to throw that crappy paint job on it. It's a used car lot and they will tell you anything to suck you into a sale YOU WILL REGRET LATER! Run,Run, Run like a bunny.

Thanks for the replies guys. After careful thinking I decided not to get the car. I don't mind work having to be done but I guess the overall agreement here and other places I checked is that $15,000 was simply too high. He didn't want to budge on it either.
So now the hunt continues. Looking for a 68 charger or 72 Camaro. And if I don't find a good one by June im just settling with the a 2013 GT-R like I originally planned.
Thanks!
