69 Sat and 383
I finally bought an old B Body so i can quit sitting on the sidelines and being jealous. The intention is to have a fun daily driver.
I'm curious about how things are fitting under the hood. It's a 383 that i doubt was original, the header collector on the right side is touching the Trans Oil Pan, the steering linkage appears to be lightly touching the bottom of the engine oil pan, and the Rad is being touched by a support bar for the front wheels (both sides).
Is this 3 issues, or one issue ?
Also, is this a satellite Hood ? or from another make/model car ?

It looks like someone may have been trying to make a RR clone at one time. The headers should not be touching the trans pan or the steering lik that and the radiator is too low it looks like.
It looks to me like you will need to install some motor mount shims to help raise the motor some so that it will clear the steering. The passenger side header will have to be replaced or something. There is no reason for it to be like that.
It is a nice looking car that you have. Someone already did a lot of the work for you and now you just have to fix thier mistakes/lack to detail.

I drove this car 1700 miles from Michigan to Saskatchewan, Canada to get it home after buying it this week, ran like a charm, except that i had to top up the trans every couple hundred miles. I think the Header burns out the trans gasket at that point and/or boils the trans fluid. Driving this 40 year old car from one end of Chicago to the other on the I94 was a bit scary for a small town boy.
Seems to heat up a bit when idling in traffic. It used to have AC, but that has been removed, is there any reason to leave the second radiator that is used for the AC in place ? Would removing it help get air to the rad ? I'm missing the fan shroud also, where would i start shopping for parts like that ?

Yes, you should pull the condensor out from infront of the radiator as this will allow more air flow through the radiator. Hold onto it if you ever plan on installing AC.
Look for a shroud on e-bay and craigslist. The shroud will help to direct the air through the radiator while idle. Without it, the fan will pull air through the radiator, but a lot of it will be pulled around it as well.
Sounds like you'll have to get that header fixed to help with the tranny issue. I'd install an alum tranny pan as that will help to keep the tranny fluid cooler.

you might gain some clearance for the radiator by loosening the screws holding the slotted radiator brackets. having a shroud would make a big difference in water temps around town but if the engine is not positioned properly, the fan blades might hit the shroud.
you might have an oil pan from a different body style car.
as for the header, the only thing i can think of is that they hit something and got bent up into the tranny.

According to the VIN, the car was a 318 engine originally, and now has a 383. Do these two engines require different motor mounts or spacers in the motor mounts ?
The engine appears to be about an inch to low, the oil pan is touching the steering linkage.
