Question big block mopar

Hi, i am building a big block motor mopar 413 i know i know not the greatest motor to build, but thats what I have! My question is I am installing ross pistons and eagle rods, If I don't BALANCE the rotating system what can i expect???

Vibrations and not the good ones… but the ones that hammer out the bearings and send the rods and pistons out the side of the block…
There’s nothing wrong with a 413 if you use a flat top piston with an aluminum head. The 413 uses the same crank and rods as the 440 so it’s good parts.
On balancing your rods are not stock weight and the piston probably isn’t either so you must balance the rotating assembly.

if you have any InSite in a freshly ground crankshaft, one of my main journals has a blue spot and on the same journal there is a pit like smaller then a BB any thoughts??

413 Is a great engine!!!!! Sounds to me like the crank can be repaired, ground and polished and also get the assembly balanced..... If not... I agree.... It's going to beat itself to death in no time at all....

Thanks for your thoughts, I am not sure why the machine shop did not catch the blue spot there is also a perfect round pit, my thoughts on the pit was maybe just a place to hold oil , but I suppose being a steel crank it can be welded and turned again more money maybe I need to have it magnfluxed too thanks again I was surprised to see this site has not been used in awhile 😀

Dam, You got me beat..... I'm much to young to feel this dam old !!!!!!
Hope you get her fixed up and running... Them 413's run real good... Had one in a 64 New Yorker.... Fine ride... Run like a stripped assed ape !!!!
